#100DaysOfCode tracker

A #100DaysOfCode tracker that checks your work.

Vigilante turns a 100-day coding challenge into a game you can't fake. Choose a repository and a daily commit target; GitHub's push notification verifies each day, and a supply crate lands in a town you rebuild. Vigilante never reads your code.

Why 100-day challenges stall

Most people track the challenge by posting or ticking a box, and self-reported days drift: a quick tweak becomes a day, then a skipped day becomes a week. When the run breaks around day 20 or 30, nothing pulls you back in.

How it works

  • Connect GitHub and pick the repository you'll work in.
  • Set a 100-day goal with a daily commit target. You can start today or tomorrow, and the app shows your end date.
  • Push as you normally would. Each verified day counts toward your 100 and drops a supply crate to rebuild your settlement.
  • Your streak raises every crate: ×1.2 from 3 days, ×1.5 from 7.

Free goal or the #100DaysOfCode quick start

A custom goal of up to 100 days is free. With Pro you can also start from the #100DaysOfCode quick start, a fixed 100-day challenge at 1 commit a day, and your daily share card carries the #100DaysOfCode tag.

What counts

Code and documentation both count, so a day spent writing the README for your project is a real day. Merge commits, empty commits, and commits that only change lock files or config files don't count. If a push doesn't count, the game tells you why.

If you miss a day

The day is marked missed and your settlement pauses, but nothing you've built is taken away. Until the end of the next day you can use 1 Revival Fluid or start a free 5-day repair run. A mended day keeps your run alive but never counts as a verified day.

Share each day

Every verified day gives you a free share card: your town, your day count and today's commits, ready to post to X or LinkedIn. Commit messages only appear if you turn that on.

Questions

Is this the official 100 Days of Code?

No. Vigilante is an independent game you can use to track the challenge. It isn't affiliated with the 100 Days of Code organisers.

Is it free?

Yes. Verified days, supply crates, building your town, survivors, daily check-ins, missions and the daily share card are free. Pro is optional: faster building, 2 Revival Fluid a month, advanced Insights, a second repository per goal and premium share designs.

How much do I have to code each day?

You choose the daily commit target when you set the goal. Any commit that changes code or documentation in your chosen repository counts toward it.

What happens if I miss a day?

The day is marked missed and your town pauses, but nothing you built is taken away. Until the end of the next day you can use 1 Revival Fluid or start a free 5-day repair run. A mended day keeps your progress going but never counts as a verified day.

Does Vigilante read my code?

No. Vigilante never clones your repository or requests code or diffs. It uses GitHub's push notification: commit IDs, timestamps and changed file names, checked to skip merges, empty commits and lock- or config-only changes. Commit messages are saved only if you turn on sharing them.

Can I use a private repository?

Yes. You choose which repositories the Vigilante GitHub App can see, private ones included, and it still never reads your code.
